Fishing Rules
Anglers have the obligation to inform him self about the fishing rules before the fishing starts. (New changes in bold)
Monitoring of the fishing is carried out by SFK Laxen's members and appointed fisheries supervisor to create a safe and pleasant fishing experience for everyone who validly visits our fishing area. Violations of the fishing rules are prosecuted consistently. A five-year suspension for the violation can be issued. Fish caught in violation of these rules are seized.
It is important to follow their advice and instructions, but do not forget that you yourself are always responsible for familiarizing yourself with the fishing rules. The rules are described on separate signs, on our website and in our brochures about fishing in Lilla Edet. Obvious violations of these rules mean that you will be banned from all fishing within SFK Laxen's area.
This applies to, for example:
- Refusal to follow the members fisheries supervisor requests or threats against them.
- Lack of valid fishing license.
- Catch / kill of incorrectly hooked salmon or trout.
- Fishing outside current fishing times.
- Consumption of alcohol, drug exposure or other disruptive behavior in connection with fishing.
The "guard telephone" is manned by the fisheries supervisor. The telephone number is 076-2367125 If you need help with irregularities in the fishing area, contact the appointed supervisors. The duty number is not for practical problems concerning fishing, but only when there is a need to receive support from fisheries supervisor. Questions regarding fishing rules see contact.
Water conditions
It is the fisherman's responsibility to make sure and check the "fishability" on the stretch before the fishing license is redeemed or pre-booked.
Note that the water flow can be changed during the fishing without SFK Laxen's control, there are unfortunately no water flow forecasts available, only real-time data (See water conditions).
Fishing is allowed as follows:
Decisions around October 1/10-14/10 salmon and trout fishing in are allowed or not is taking every year by SFK Laxen's board in September.

Release of fish.
It is very important when releasing caught or incorrectly hooked fish that you handle the fish carefully and do not stress the fish more than necessary. The fish should, as far as possible, not be exposed to air and never leave the water when re-released. If you need to grip the fish, do this gently in the tail spool with a wet hand. Use peang or pliers to loosen the hook. Do not lift the fish out of the water for photography.
SFK Laxens recommends fishing with a single hook at higher water temperatures or later in the July season and onwards when the zones hold a lot of fish.
If we all show consideration, help each other and that downstream fishermen cast first, the fishing will be much more pleasant with less hassle and greater chance of landing caught fish.
